About the role

The City of Fort Collins seeks a Project Manager to oversee, coordinate, and manage projects related to efficiency program implementation from inception to completion. This role ensures deliverables meet technical quality, reliability, schedule, and budget requirements while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects, ensuring their timely and budget-conscious completion while maintaining scope integrity.
  • Foster productive collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Identify and address challenges proactively, maintaining clear and consistent communication with relevant parties.
  • Define and document project scopes, objectives, and feasibility assessments in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve project milestones efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor progress and ensure accountability.
  • Apply effective change management practices to control project scope, schedule, and cost variations.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on project performance, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project disruptions.
  • Partner closely with various City departments and grants compliance teams to ensure cohesive project execution.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desired.

  • Proven expertise in project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other digital tools.
  • Skilled in data extraction, normalization, and utilization for insightful reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with efficiency and poise.

$69,369.00 - 105,615.00 (Salaries are paid biweekly)
