Project Manager

About the role

At CESO, the Project Manager plans, executes, and delivers projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager defines the project’s objectives, oversees quality control, and is responsible for invoicing and managing accounts receivable. They represent CESO in all project-related communications with clients from initial effort throughout the entire course of agreement activity and in post-agreement marketing activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals for professional services, including scope, schedule, fee budget, fee negotiations, change order preparation, and monthly billing; coordinate contract negotiations with senior leadership.
• Accountable for the team’s quality of work, productivity, and actions.
• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of architecture and engineering projects from initiation through closeout.
• Serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships, expectations, and communications throughout the project.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and financial performance.
• Develop and monitor project work plans, including task assignments and deliverables for internal teams and subconsultants.
• Prepare contracts, change orders, fee proposals, and client billing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, standards, and client requirements.
• Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address scope, schedule, and budget challenges.
• Lead internal project meetings and client presentations; prepare progress reports and other project documentation.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal development and project interviews.
• Responsible for billing, invoicing the project, and tracking/managing a client’s accounts receivable in collaboration with the accounting department to ensure payment by contract terms.
• Supervise direct reports as a key responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience directly managing projects in a design and construction-related field (preferred); or 10 years of related experience and/or training.
• Professional Licensure (RA, PE, PS, RLA) is preferred.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, Deltek, and Newforma.

Pay

$85,897 - $167,023 a year. The pay band reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for this position at CESO. Actual pay is determined by location, experience, education, skills, and internal equity. Below are the typical new hire pay ranges based on location:

• Akron, OH: $85,897 - $108,803
• Brentwood, TN: $95,442 - $120,893
• Rogers, AR: $85,897 - $108,803
• St. Louis, MO: $90,669 - $114,848
