On-siteProject Management$120k–$165k/yrFull-time

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to join an established general contractor specializing in federal and public-sector construction. This role takes full ownership of projects from kickoff through closeout, managing schedules, subcontractors, change orders, financial performance, and the day-to-day decisions that keep complex projects moving forward. Projects typically range from $7M–$15M, with a mix of new construction, design-build, tenant improvement, and smaller IDIQ work. The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on construction professional who has managed projects for an at-risk general contractor, understands federal construction, and can confidently run multiple projects without needing layers of administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple federal and public-sector construction projects from award through completion, maintaining accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and profitability
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, scopes of work, schedules of values, and other critical project documentation
  • Review subcontractor proposals, procure subcontractors, negotiate agreements, and ensure scopes are complete before work begins
  • Manage change orders directly, including pricing, documentation, and negotiations with owners and subcontractors
  • Oversee project financial performance, invoicing, cost control, and profit and loss responsibilities
  • Navigate permitting, project logistics, owner requirements, and client-specific processes throughout each phase of construction
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, field teams, and subcontractors to keep projects moving efficiently and successfully

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Project Manager experience with approximately 8+ years of overall construction industry experience
  • Federal construction experience is required
  • General contractor experience is required, including direct Project Manager experience with an at-risk GC and responsibility for project profit and loss
  • Proven experience managing construction projects from start to finish, ideally including projects in the $10M range
  • Strong working knowledge of subcontractor procurement, scheduling, change orders, project financials, and construction documentation
  • U.S. citizenship required due to federal project restrictions
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects while maintaining strong control over schedules, budgets, and project execution

Benefits

  • Discretionary bonuses tied to company and project performance
  • 100% employer-paid employee health insurance premiums with 50% coverage toward dependent premiums
  • Simple IRA with an employer match, subject to eligibility requirements
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage providing at least 60% salary protection
  • $50,000 employer-provided life insurance policy
  • 11 paid holidays plus negotiable PTO, typically beginning with two weeks

Pay

$120,000–$165,000 / year, DOE
