About the role

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to provide administration and coordination for complex and highly visible construction and modernization projects.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate activities for design and construction of complex projects under guidance of a senior Project Officer.
  • Ensure quality, high standards of performance, and compliance in both design and construction by all consultants and vendors.
  • Make timely decisions to expedite project completion and correct mistakes early in the construction process.
  • Handle varied responsibilities, including problem-solving and managerial functions for projects.
  • Make decisions on phasing and scheduling; prepare and monitor schedules to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Provide ongoing interface with contractors, construction managers, local personnel, and senior client managers.
  • Participate in developing and issuing project procedures and policies; review and recommend client-wide procedures.
  • Guide and advise lower-level Project Officers and resolve issues raised in field reports.
  • Work with architects/engineers on change orders, contract document interpretation, shop drawing approvals, and technical matters to ensure code compliance and structural integrity.
  • Issue field memoranda or directives to enforce contract compliance and advise senior management on liquidated damages or contractual enforcement.
  • Use independent judgment to make on-site change order decisions, negotiate with contractors, and commit client resources.
  • Review contractor claims or disputed work and compile documentation for adjudication or denial.
  • Visit job sites as required and perform other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible work as a technical specialist in construction and design-related fields; two (2) years must involve managing all phases of construction on a similar scale and scope.
  • A driver’s license valid in New York State.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
