About the Role

Manage fire sprinkler installation projects in commercial and industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Positively represent the company in all customer interactions.
  • Oversee and communicate project progression, developing comprehensive project plans to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.
  • Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
  • Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, and/or labor requirements.
  • Ensure AHJ requirements and departmental procedures are followed.
  • Convey professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management.
  • Coordinate change orders in a timely manner to drive margin improvement.
  • Track project expenditures and installation progress through status reports, modifying schedules as needed.
  • Provide responsive, accurate, and professional support to customers and personnel, ensuring timely follow-up on concerns.
  • Actively participate in turnover meetings, design meetings, post-job meetings, and weekly department meetings.
  • Attend job site pre-construction meetings and inspections as a licensed representative, as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Project Coordinator on schedules, inspections, fabrication, and equipment deliveries.
  • Gather and review quotes for fabrication and loose materials to ensure budget accuracy.
  • Perform monthly “Cost to Complete” reports for ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Construction Administrator, Project Coordinator, Designers, and Estimators for project success.
  • Ensure proper handover of job information between departments.
  • Engage in long-range project planning and scheduling with the Construction Operations Manager.
  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and company business practices.
  • Prioritize safety by starting meetings with safety topics, completing monthly jobsite visits, and promoting safe driving.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to update job status, billing, and projections.
  • Track and ensure department profitability, overseeing change order management and department growth.
  • Support team adherence to company SOPs for job setup, contracts, change orders, and accounting processes.
  • Ensure jobs are set up in the correct department and inventory control measures are in place.
  • Manage subcontractors, review invoices, and optimize material purchasing with multiple bids.
  • Review budget vs. actual job costing and maximize labor production while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain quality control, customer satisfaction, and respond to survey feedback.
  • Reduce turnover, increase retention, and commit to training and development at all levels.
  • Generate and review reports on sales, active/inactive jobs, WIP, liens, and unapproved change orders.
  • Foster teamwork and positive interactions within the team, local office, and other departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards.
  • NICET Level II or higher certification.
  • Experience with ProCore or other project management software tools.
  • Five years of fire sprinkler construction-related project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments with strong adherence to deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for internal and external customers.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and customers in difficult situations.
  • Valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Proficient in personal computer use, including Windows operating systems.
