About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the portfolio of projects required to enable effective industrialization of new battery fire protection and emission control products supplying the automotive industry as a tier 1 supplier and energy storage solution industries. This role involves working cross-functionally to develop and manage a program of projects that deliver the most effective and standardized manufacturing techniques, with a focus on new product programs and close cooperation with pursuit and New Product Development teams. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who is collaborative, drives for results, and directly contributes to creating new revenue platforms by implementing the most effective manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Technology Identification and Integration: Coordinate the identification, evaluation, standardization, and implementation of manufacturing processes as a program. Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to incorporate new technologies into production processes. Own and systemize technology best practice knowledge. Decide which operations to insource (with a bias toward internalizing for greater supply chain control) and which to externalize. Develop a modular approach to allow flexibility in processes and adaptability to changing requirements and demand.
- Safety and Sustainability: Ensure all new manufacturing processes prioritize safety and environmental sustainability.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all new manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations, including IATF, ISO 9001, APQP, and other automotive-specific requirements. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and maintain quality metrics and address non-conformance issues.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams to implement capital projects and process improvement initiatives. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for manufacturing improvements. Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely supply of quality materials and components.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop project and program team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Conduct regular performance reviews and develop training programs to enhance team capabilities.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, preferably within the automotive supply or battery industries.
- Proven track record in complex project management, ideally coordinating multiple projects in a program approach.
- Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies and industry standards, particularly in the context of battery components.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing high-performance teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Travel: 25-50% depending on work location and business need.
Pay
For candidates residing in New York State, the salary range is $100,000–$127,000. Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
