Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The Project Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate projects within budget by collaborating with estimators, account managers, and department leaders. This includes overseeing projects related to the design and construction of custom trade show exhibits and high-end commercial interiors in the retail, corporate, and hospitality sectors. This role offers significant control and the opportunity to make critical decisions that affect project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account management to understand client needs.
- Work closely with design, estimating, detailing, and production departments to ensure projects stay within design constraints and budget.
- Initiate Change Orders when appropriate.
- Perform material take-offs and submit purchase requisitions for all necessary materials and goods, including services from outside vendors.
- Create and track project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor time and materials relative to estimates and report project status accurately.
- Coordinate, review, and approve various drawings, including set-ups, electrical, carpet, and shop/construction drawings.
- Liaise with all departments such as Graphics, Shipping, Installation, Production, Design, and Estimating.
- Ensure customer’s agreed-upon project completion dates are met.
- Provide effective leadership and drive issues to resolution, using escalation when appropriate.
- Continuously explore opportunities to enhance processes and job accomplishments.
- Engage in extensive collaboration and communication with project vendors.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of project management experience in a fast-paced, multiple-priority creative manufacturing environment.
- Experience conducting site surveys in commercial and/or residential spaces.
- Ability to read architectural, floor plan, and shop/construction drawings.
- Experience with exhibits and/or custom millwork.
Skills
- PMI certification is a plus.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Inventor is a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires on-site presence with a typical start time around 7 AM. The Project Manager is expected to manage their time to ensure projects remain on track. This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Melville, NY.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $125,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year.
