About the role

Horst Architects is seeking a Project Manager / Architectural Designer to join their studio. The ideal candidate is passionate about residential architecture, skilled in design and problem-solving, and experienced in all phases of the design and construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
  • Translate ideas into thoughtful, well-executed architectural solutions
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure cohesive project outcomes
  • Manage project schedules and budgets
  • Prepare and review construction documents
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong emphasis on design
  • Exceptional architectural design talent and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
  • Strong proficiency in drafting architectural plans and details with minimal supervision
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Twinmotion, and other visualization/rendering software
  • Experience in residential architecture preferred
  • Knowledge of California building codes preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, personal initiative, and time management abilities
