About the role
Horst Architects is seeking a Project Manager / Architectural Designer to join their studio. The ideal candidate is passionate about residential architecture, skilled in design and problem-solving, and experienced in all phases of the design and construction process.
Responsibilities
- Develop projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
- Translate ideas into thoughtful, well-executed architectural solutions
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure cohesive project outcomes
- Manage project schedules and budgets
- Prepare and review construction documents
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong emphasis on design
- Exceptional architectural design talent and creative problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated experience developing projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
- Strong proficiency in drafting architectural plans and details with minimal supervision
- Professional degree in Architecture
- Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Twinmotion, and other visualization/rendering software
- Experience in residential architecture preferred
- Knowledge of California building codes preferred
- Strong organizational skills, personal initiative, and time management abilities
