Project Manager – Kenai, Alaska Location: Kenai, Alaska (Onsite) Duration: 6–12 Month Contract Compensation: $70–$95/hour (depending on experience and qualifications) Per Diem: Not available; compensation structure may be offered as a blended or split-rate arrangement where applicable. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Project Manager to support capital projects, maintenance initiatives, and operational improvements within a refinery environment. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage a broad range of project engineering responsibilities, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and help drive projects from planning through execution. The ideal candidate will have recent refinery field experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating facility. Candidates with Mechanical, Process, or Control Systems engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Support the development, planning, execution, and closeout of refinery projects.Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, and contractor teams to ensure successful project delivery.Develop and review project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and technical documentation.Conduct field walkdowns and provide engineering support during project execution.Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.Ensure compliance with site safety standards, industry regulations, and engineering best practices.Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.Support management of change (MOC) processes and project documentation requirements.Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Controls, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.Recent field experience supporting projects in a refinery environment.Demonstrated experience managing multiple project tasks simultaneously.Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership of project deliverables.Experience collaborating with operations and maintenance personnel in an active industrial facility.Ability to work full-time onsite in Billings, Montana. Preferred Qualifications Background in Mechanical, Process, or Control Systems engineering.Experience with instrumentation and controls systems.DeltaV DCS experience.Previous turnaround (TA) planning or onsite turnaround support experience.Experience supporting brownfield projects and operating facilities.Knowledge of refinery processes, equipment, and industry standards.
