Project Management Office Intern

Hilltop Holdings Inc. is seeking a Summer Intern to join our Project Management Office (PMO). This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the PMO team, showcasing the value PMO brings to the company while learning the balance between structure and agility in project management.

About the Role

As a Summer Intern, you will be introduced to the Enterprise PMO team (EPMO) and business stakeholders, gaining firsthand experience in project management tools, processes, and collaboration techniques. You will learn how to interact with team members, understand their roles, and adapt communication styles for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers on various projects.
• Attend project meetings and assist with project documentation, financial tracking, and planning activities.
• Work with Hilltop Holdings’ Portfolio Leads during annual planning and business case development, collaborating with PMO, business stakeholders, and IT.
• Support PMO Business Consultants or Business Analysts in business process reviews, including creating process flows and engagement summaries.
• Assist the Communications Lead in developing communications for the EPMO team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Rising Senior pursuing a relevant degree preferred.
• Some experience (0–1 year) is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, operating systems (Windows or Mac), and software/applications (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proven ability to work independently, initiate tasks, and follow up to completion.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Interest in exploring career opportunities in the Project Management Office and/or financial services industry.
• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
