Project Leader - (San Diego, CA)
About the role
This position is based in San Diego, California, with a travel requirement of 10% or greater in support of CONUS and OCONUS operations. As a Project Leader II supporting the PS2-EA Contract at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) Old Town Campus, you will provide directions on projects from inception through completion and provide managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the requirements of the contract for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction on projects from inception through completion and provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer.
- Manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks.
- Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements.
- Review work for quality assurance.
- Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customers.
- Attend meetings and develop presentations about project status and work commitments.
- Evaluate, develop or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
- Evaluate, develop or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
- Ensure training of all staff members and instruct them on customer’s methods, procedures, and standards.
- Evaluate, develop or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
- Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program design.
- Participate in the planning and design of new projects as requested.
- Perform complex work important to the organization.
- Work with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience of managing projects and personnel
- Knowledge in NG-911 & ePCR (EMS Records Management systems) is beneficial
- Experience supporting mission-critical or classified systems
- Ability to work in field/deployed environments with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask and teach or assist others to resolve issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reports
- Ability to support projects at client sites where working conditions may vary
- Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay
The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
