Project Lead - U.S. Citizenship Required
About the role
CGI Federal is seeking an experienced Logistics Project Lead (SME) to support a large Department of Homeland Security program. This role supports lifecycle maintenance, sustainment, and operational efficiency of the program's critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of business analysts, RPA analysts, and SMEs to assess client requirements, identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, and make recommendations to the client.
- Oversee programs and supervise professional and technical personnel.
- Manage all phases of the project and ensure timely reporting requirements (e.g., deliverables, schedules, etc.).
- Maintain collaborative relationships with government teams to conduct lifecycle maintenance and sustainment operations.
Requirements
- To be successful in this role, U.S. citizenship is required, along with successful completion of a CGI background check prior to beginning work.
- Active CBP BI or the ability to obtain the applicable agency clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7–10 years of experience in project management and/or logistics applications.
- Experience in lifecycle management, maintenance, and sustainment of critical systems.
- Experience developing project timelines, tracking progress, addressing risks and impediments, and communicating status to the client.
- Proven experience managing federal programs and multidisciplinary teams, including tracking schedules, risks, financials, and staffing.
- Ability to interpret and act on operational analytics (throughput, cycle time, SLA performance).
- Strong understanding of government contracting operations.
Qualifications
- Required qualifications: U.S. citizenship, active CBP BI clearance, bachelor’s degree, 7-10 years of experience in project management/logistics, experience in lifecycle management/maintenance/sustainment, experience with project timelines, risk management, financials, and staffing, ability to interpret and act on operational analytics, strong understanding of government contracting operations.
- Desired qualifications: Experience supporting DHS, PMP or PgMP certification.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 - $194,000.00.

Schedule
Your future duties and responsibilities include leading a team of business analysts, RPA analysts, and SMEs to assess client requirements, identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, and make recommendations to the client. Oversee programs and supervise professional and technical personnel. Manage all phases of the project and ensure timely reporting requirements (e.g., deliverables, schedules, etc.). Monitor call orders, subcontracts, and funding; prepare financial forecasts in collaboration with the program manager. Maintain collaborative relationships with government teams to conduct lifecycle maintenance and sustainment operations.
