About the Role

The Project Lead - Structured Cabling acts as the on-site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads for voice and data installation projects. This role ensures job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate major project crews, ensuring effective performance and providing necessary training.
  • Adhere to company and customer safety and quality guidelines, holding weekly safety meetings.
  • Initiate performance-related communications and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
  • Complete all IES COMMERCIAL and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
  • Perform quality checks, coordinate moves, and prepare cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects.
  • Prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
  • Serve as the main on-site customer contact for questions and concerns.
  • Attend facility and construction meetings as required.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field.
  • Ability to terminate fiber.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Proven skill in interpreting blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Must meet company minimum driving standards.

Required tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle-nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester, and 5-gang punch tool.

Pay

Minimum $27.00/year. Maximum $38.50/year.
