Project Lead-Structured Cabling ($5,000 Sign-on Bonus)
Job Summary
The Project Lead is the on-site crew supervisor and coordinator for voice and data installation projects. This role ensures job completion in accordance with company and customer quality and safety standards while maintaining crew efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage major project crews; own crew performance and on-the-job training;
- Ensure adherence to company and customer safety and quality standards;
- Hold weekly safety meetings;
- Initiate performance-related communications and escalate to the Project Manager as needed;
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to drive productivity, job completion, and project budget compliance;
- Complete all IES and project paperwork accurately and on time including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers;
- Perform quality checks; coordinate moves and cut sheets for voice and data cross connects; prepare red-lined as-built drawings;
- Serve as the primary on-site customer contact for questions and concerns; attend facility and construction meetings as required;
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve field issues as they arise;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, professional, and positive in approach;
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to read, write, and present effectively;
- Proven ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents including quality and reporting requirements;
- Able to serve as the company liaison and interface directly with customer representatives;
- Promotes company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners;
- Supports process improvement initiatives.
Required Tools
- Screwdriver (flathead and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips with belt sheath, needle nose and channel lock pliers, hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, punch tool with 110 and 66 block blades, tone set, and 6/8 position combo crimp tool.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required;
- Minimum two years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field;
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others;
- Proficient with all required tools;
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes required;
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
