Project Lead

About the role

The Project Lead is the “voice of the customer” in our Oldcastle Infrastructure (OI) facilities, responsible for the customer experience from the point of sale to on-site delivery. This role ensures 100% customer satisfaction on all sales orders by driving activities from sales to delivery, coordinating with engineering, approving submittals, scheduling production, and managing on-site delivery. The Project Lead acts as the main point of contact for customers and vendors, monitors project costs, ensures compliance with contract documents, attends job meetings, and balances customer and OI interests throughout the process.

This position is located in our office/plant in Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the “voice of the customer” within OI facilities and manage multiple sales orders concurrently.
• Conduct Turnover/Kick Off meetings with the C.O.M, O.S.R, and Est. to ensure all information and paperwork are complete, scope of work is clear, estimate values are confirmed, and project scheduling aligns with the “Customer Ship Date” in AX.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, keeping them updated from production schedule to on-site delivery.
• Provide direction and oversight to the project team, including engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement, and accounting.
• Prepare change order proposals promptly, whether initiated by the owner/client/engineer or generated internally.
• Monitor project progress, proactively problem-solve, offer technical advice, and assist staff to expedite projects while removing obstacles that may cause delays.
• Foster a mentality of continuous improvement in processes and systems.
• Coordinate site visits and resolve issues arising from point of sale to project completion, including change orders, schedule adjustments, and information collection.
• Identify and requisition special purchase items as required.
• Manage submittals and approvals with customers.
• Communicate with the Transportation department regarding initial and follow-up delivery needs.
• Work with other project managers and the plant manager to manage the long-term schedule and minimize operational conflicts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Civil Engineering preferred).
• 5+ years of Project Management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large to small, complex projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience within the construction or precast concrete industry is a plus.
