Project Lead
About the role
Interfaces with customers, engineers, outside agencies, supervisors, and managers concerning electric distribution and transmission services available. Evaluates, analyzes, and implements productivity tools, including hardware, software, and training. Develops and provides technical instruction and production support to improve automation efforts and performance. Reviews designs for completeness, accuracy, and quality. Prepares cost estimates and performs project management functions on complex projects.
Responsibilities

- Develops and provides technical instruction and production support to improve automation efforts and performance.
- Reviews designs for completeness, accuracy, and quality.
- Prepares cost estimates and performs project management functions on complex projects.
- Assists in system development/enhancements.
- Supports all three DI design groups within Distribution Improvements Design.
- Supports DI Design and Analysts to develop improved estimating processes.
- Checks jobs for design standards, drafting standards, CUEs and develops training needs based on the repetitiveness of inconsistencies and errors.
- Coverage for meetings with municipalities and customers when primary PL's are not available.
- Meets with stakeholders to determine best practices to get jobs passed through permitting at a more efficient pace.
- Develops training material and facilitates training for onboarding new employees as well as train existing staff.
- Led CAD efforts for municipal work, including taking customer files and referencing them into survey basefiles.
- Coordinates with survey to verify submittals and requests are complete and accurate so projects can proceed in the most efficient manner.
- Attends pre-cons and coordinates with Construction Consultants to ensure accuracy and constructability of designs.
- Acts as a single point of contact for DI Design to ensure external design details are kept up to date.
- Extensive customer contact outside, including consulting engineers, municipalities, and developers.
Requirements
Knowledge of the development community activities. Responsibility for scheduling and meeting scheduled commitments for self and others. Represents on external committees with other utilities, agencies, municipalities, manufactures, and customers.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of electric distribution and transmission services.
- Experience with productivity tools, including hardware, software, and training.
- Ability to evaluate, analyze, and implement productivity tools.
- Experience developing and providing technical instruction and production support.
- Experience reviewing designs for completeness, accuracy, and quality.
- Experience preparing cost estimates and performing project management functions on complex projects.
- Experience supporting multiple design groups within Distribution Improvements Design.
- Experience developing improved estimating processes.
- Experience checking jobs for design standards, drafting standards, CUEs, and developing training needs.
- Experience coordinating with survey to verify submittals and requests are complete and accurate.
- Experience attending pre-cons and coordinating with Construction Consultants to ensure accuracy and constructability of designs.
- Experience acting as a single point of contact for DI Design to ensure external design details are kept up to date.
- Experience with extensive customer contact outside, including consulting engineers, municipalities, and developers.
