Project Lead

About the role
The Project Lead acts as the “voice of the customer” and is responsible for the customer experience from the estimate to on-site delivery. This role ensures 100% customer satisfaction on all sales orders by driving activities from the point of sale through on-site delivery, including coordination with engineering, approval of submittals, scheduling production, and managing on-site delivery with customers and transportation. The Project Lead serves as the main point of contact for customers and vendors, monitors project costs, ensures compliance with contract documents, attends job meetings, and balances customer and company needs throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” within CRH facilities, managing multiple sales orders concurrently.
- Conduct Turnover/Kick Off meetings with the C.O.M, O.S.R, and Estimation teams to review scope, estimate values, and align production scheduling with the “Customer Ship Date.”
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates from production scheduling to on-site delivery.
- Oversee all aspects of the project team, including engineering, production planning, transportation, procurement, and accounting.
- Prepare change order proposals in response to customer, client, or engineer requests, or as generated internally.
- Proactively monitor project progress, problem-solve, offer technical advice, and expedite projects to prevent delays.
- Coordinate site visits and resolve issues from point of sale to project completion, including change orders, schedule adjustments, and information collection.
- Identify and requisition special purchase items as required.
- Manage submittals and approvals with customers.
- Communicate delivery needs with the Transportation department and follow up as required.
- Collaborate with other project managers and the plant manager to manage long-term schedules and minimize operational conflicts.
- Estimate projects, obtain quotes by bid dates, and contact vendors for pricing as needed.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, inside sales, operations, and management teams.
- Promote continuous improvement of processes and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Civil Engineering preferred).
- 3+ years of Project Management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large to small, complex projects simultaneously.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience within the construction or precast concrete industry.
