Project Industrial Engineering Lead
OxEon Energy is seeking a Project Industrial Engineering Lead to innovate and take leadership in the execution of designs within the Systems Engineering Team. This role interfaces with mechanical, chemical, and electrical design engineers while leading technician and build teams to implement quality assurance measures. The Project Industrial Engineer works with project management to maintain schedule adherence, ensure builds capture drawing intent, and use documented processes. They bring manufacturing experience and troubleshoot or implement rework/repair steps as needed.

Responsibilities
- Bring manufacturing expertise to design team meetings.
- Serve as a technical contributor for Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), ensuring alignment across engineering, fabrication, controls, procurement, and project management.
- Develop innovative system concepts that optimize manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost.
- Implement the design and analysis of piping systems, pressure vessels, and structural components across a broad range of operating conditions.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, design review processes, and documentation of quality.
- Manage multiple concurrent design and fabrication programs while maintaining schedule, scope, and budget alignment.
- Lead design reviews for key late-phase gates (Fabrication Readiness, pre-ship reviews, etc.) and present findings to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Participate in assembly of late-phase documentation including build records, drawings, solid models, analysis reports, fabrication packages, and validation reports.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement to support vendor selection, technical evaluations, and component qualification.
- Lead the Systems Engineering production teams during prototype builds, system integration, and commissioning.
- Oversee control system integration in coordination with panel builders and PLC programmers.
- Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create operational documentation ready for customer site operations.
- Develop Fabrication SOPs for technicians that bridge the gap between design and fabrication engineering.
- Ensure that required inspection points are clearly defined, and order of operations clearly documented.
- Support proposal development, technical estimating, and customer-facing technical discussions as needed.
- Responsible for workflow management, technicians' task assignments, conducting one-on-one meetings, and approving employee timecards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing/industrial engineering.
- At least 4 years of progressive manufacturing engineering / mechanical system design experience.
- Strong experience in building execution of complex mechanical / electrical systems.
- Work experience and work instruction development within quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Significant work experience working at or with machine and welding shops, or assembly of products, or assembly/test PID controlled systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, oil & gas, chemical processing, or advanced energy systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with pressure vessel codes (e.g., ASME), piping standards, and structured design review processes.
- Experience supporting prototype-to-production transitions.
- Experience with troubleshooting and QA CARs.
- Industrial and/or Manufacturing process development.
Working Conditions
