About the role
Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project-II Archaeologist for full-time, salaried employment in the Las Vegas Metro Area. This position is not seasonal and requires a mix of office and field skills.
Responsibilities
- Hiking in moderate terrain in populated and remote areas of the Great Basin and Southwest
- Communicating effectively with the field crew and office personnel
- Recording and evaluating cultural resources
- Participating in surveys, excavations, and monitoring projects
- Safely driving field vehicles in the backcountry
- Reading topographic maps for navigation in the field
- Collaborating with the larger cultural resources team in Reno and Denver
- Conducting field work and managing cultural resources projects in various regions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
- Qualify as a Crew Chief or Principal Investigator statewide in Arizona and Nevada for ARPA permits, CRUP, and state permits
- Experience implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
- Ability to traverse moderate mountain and desert terrain while carrying a 30-pound pack
- Five years of experience working in a consulting company, state agency, or federal agency
- Experience with data entry, producing site forms, and professional communication
- Experience writing professional reports for Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
Qualifications
- Passion for helping clients navigate Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
- Experience with ArcGIS/Database Specialist
- Knowledge of Broadbent's administrative staff and temporary/seasonal field staff

Pay
The annual salary is between $61,000 and $90,000 (based on 40-hour week), commensurate with education, training, and experience.
Schedule
Project hours are typically eight, 10-hour days in the field. Out-of-town fieldwork as required.
