About the role
The Project Executive position offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee the strategic and day-to-day operations of construction, project management, and project administration activities. This role involves maintaining budgets, timelines, and profitability for assigned projects, assisting in policy development, and promoting positive customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight in client management, procedural issues, financial and reporting issues, and workforce planning and analysis.
- Manage and develop the professional and development skills of project management staff.
- Initiate, execute, and document a quality job start-up meeting for assigned projects.
- Manage and maintain “Strategic Partner” subcontractor and vendor relationships, including verifying timely payment.
- Conduct monthly project reviews with project teams to ensure adherence to schedules, quality of work, safety, administration, and profitability.
- Analyze personnel availability and make specific project assignments to meet project needs.
- Aid PMs and Superintendents in resolving specific issues and requests.
- Manage customer relations and change order negotiations.
- Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc.
- Attend project senior management meetings.
- Schedule, facilitate, and document project close-out meetings.
- Verify project data sheets and photos (with client’s permission) for all completed projects.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with Accubid and Oracle preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing requirements, and work under time pressure.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivation, proactivity, and teamwork.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
- Proven experience mentoring and managing others.
- Experience in business development and heavy client interaction.
