About the role

The Stantec office in Naples and For Myers, Florida, seeks a Project Engineer Site / Civil Engineering to join their dynamic team. This position involves significant projects, client interactions, and effective teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all aspects of civil engineering design including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control.

  • Projects may include land development (all types/sectors), roadway/intersection design, preparation of construction plans and related design reports.

  • Preparing complete submission packages, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties.

  • Utilizing technologies in development of three dimensional models of civil systems and providing markups for junior engineers/designers.

  • Prepares and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, and details.

  • Leading project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.

  • Participating in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating.

  • Aiding Project Manager with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.

  • Leading the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.

  • Performing and overseeing the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

  • Conducting quality assurance and quality control on own projects.

  • Aiding in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.

  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.

  • Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Hydrology / Hydraulic design software, Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the profession of Civil Engineering civil/site design.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in FL or ability to obtain within 6 months.
