About the role
Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Tampa or Clearwater, Florida has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer – Site /Civil engineering design.
Responsibilities
- Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Utilizes technologies in development of three dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers.
- Presents and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
- Led project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
- Aids senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Might lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
- Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Utilizes advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
- Conducts constructability review.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
- Aids in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
- Works on multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
- Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Civil3D, Hydrology / Hydraulic design software, MS Office.
- Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in the profession of Civil Engineering civil/site design.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
