Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with project teams, clients, contractors, and agency representatives
- Receive general direction on project assignments while exercising sound engineering judgment and independent decision-making
- Direct and assign work to administrative and field staff throughout all phases of construction projects
- Monitor construction progress and coordinate project activities to support successful project delivery
- Prepare, review, and manage progress estimates and final estimates throughout the duration of construction projects
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements and FDOT standards
- Cookordination with project stakeholders to resolve construction issues and support timely project completion
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida required
- Applicants licensed in another state must obtain Florida PE licensure by endorsement within six months of the project's Notice to Proceed (NTP)
- Experience Requirements: Candidates with a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management: Minimum of two years of engineering experience on relevant transportation projects
- A master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management may substitute for one year of the required experience
- Candidates without a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management: Minimum of eight years of CEI, roadway, or bridge construction experience
- At least two years of experience must include relevant transportation projects

Required Certifications
- The following certifications may be obtained within six months of the date of hire, provided the employee works under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer, meets all other position requirements, and follows an approved training plan:
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
- CTQP Final Estimates Level II
- CTQP Quality Control Manager certification, including successful completion of the required examination
