About the role

The Onshore Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, execution, and close-out of onshore projects by providing engineering oversight and technical guidance from concept development through construction, commissioning, and start-up. This role works closely with internal multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, vendors, subcontractors, client operators, and other key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, specifications, regulations, and company quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall project coordination and engineering technical oversight on assigned onshore projects.
  • Lead engineering and design teams using knowledge of general engineering principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in planning, scope, and cost development, as well as scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Support change management and ensure compliance with the Arion Quality Management System.
  • Monitor QA/QC of projects and coordinate resolutions for design or process issues.
  • Identify risks and areas of concern, recommend corrective actions, and execute as directed by the client.
  • Direct activities to ensure engineering and design deliverables meet specifications, codes, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and the client.
  • Lead regular project meetings, including model reviews, P&ID reviews, HAZOP, and other HSE risk assessments.
  • Coordinate travel for walkdowns, vendor FAT, onshore site visits, and other project-related activities.
  • Maintain action and design registers for assigned projects.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including technical and commercial bid evaluations, RFIs, vendor data reviews, and inspections.
  • Promote interdisciplinary coordination, knowledge sharing, and a collaborative engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in process, mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of project discipline engineers and designers.
  • Recent project engineering management experience in an engineering firm.
  • Experience with individual project sizes of $1M or greater.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering, design, and construction of onshore equipment or facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in onshore projects (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (preferred).

Skills

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 and EcoSys software.
  • Experience with Adobe Pro, Drawboard, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote).
  • Some experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FusionLive (Document Control).

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to off-site work locations.
  • Field duties may require outdoor work in plants or facilities around production machinery, subject to varying temperatures and noise.
  • May require travel to multiple job sites in a day, with exposure to climate changes.
  • Periodic out-of-town travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Effective communication skills, including clarity of speech and hearing.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Sufficient visual acuity or observational abilities to review documents and perform analysis.
  • Manual dexterity for routine office tasks such as typing and using standard office equipment.
  • Mobility to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting operational or field locations.
