We’re looking for a Project Engineer who thrives on turning challenges into solutions and ideas into reality. In this role, you’ll improve process capabilities, ensure smooth product transitions to production, and work hands-on with cross-functional teams to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation on the production floor.

Location

This position can be based in either Eden Prairie, MN or New Ulm, MN. If based in Eden Prairie, some travel to New Ulm would be required. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of capable processes and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production.
  • Initiates and conducts defined technical tasks associated within a manufacturing environment.
  • Assesses process capabilities and innovates and implements process improvements for discrete, well-defined processes.
  • Analyzes, understands, and applies technical and quality requirements of well-defined products to create proper documentation to meet the requirements of a given contract.
  • Writes clean and concise work instructions that can be understood by manufacturing operators.
  • Assists in disposition and review of non-conforming rejects to identify and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Contributes to technical reports, validations, and qualifications by capturing experimental results.
  • Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
  • Gathers and provides technical data for technical reviews.
  • Oversees development builds associated with the project.
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of key production processes and materials.
  • Assists in the designing of fixtures and tooling to facilitate product development.
  • Creates dimensional characterization methodology and inspection criteria.
  • Investigates root cause and implements corrective action as pertaining to quality or cost concerns.
  • Identifies and implements a comprehensive education plan to continually advance technical skills and personal development as well as enhancing organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science from an accredited university or college.
  • General understanding and working knowledge of common engineering concepts & applications including statistical and scientific tools (e.g., Gage R&R, DOE, process capability, SPC, etc.).
  • Ability to identify technical problems and execute solutions relevant to project responsibility using a systematic problem-solving process.
  • Basic understanding of electric motor theory and principles, including typical mechanical and electrical inspection methods.
  • Ability to create technical presentations and recommendations for internal and external customers.
  • Apply basic project/process management tools (i.e., Gantt chart, RACI matrices) to ensure performance against project deliverables.
  • Ability to develop effective work relationships with suppliers and customers of project/process input and output.

Pay

  • Project Engineer I - $75,000 - $95,000 annual DOQ
  • Project Engineer II - $85,000 - $115,000 annual DOQ
  • Project Engineer III - $95,000 - $140,000 annual DOQ
  • This position is eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus program based on company performance goals. Bonus payouts are not guaranteed and are determined at the company's discretion.
