Responsibilities
- Lead and support the planning, design, and development of municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction with a focus on water resources.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, studies, reports, design documentation, and construction documents.
- Support projects involving community infrastructure such as streets, utilities, drainage, site improvements, and related public works systems.
- Develop construction specifications, cost estimates, and schedules with a focus on accuracy, constructability, and client needs.
- Manage assigned project components with minimal oversight while monitoring scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coincide work with project managers, municipal clients, internal technical teams, and external partners.
- Review work completed by junior engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
- Support QA/QC processes and take ownership of technical accuracy across assigned deliverables.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations to verify existing conditions and support project design.
- Review construction progress, document observations, and help resolve technical challenges in the field.
- Confirm that work aligns with plans, specifications, applicable standards, and community expectations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant post-graduate engineering experience.
- Experience: Experience with municipal infrastructure, public works, or community development projects preferred.
- Experience: Experience supporting projects through planning, design, bidding, and construction preferred.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to acquire Wisconsin PE license preferred; multi-state licensure may be beneficial depending on project assignments.
