Potelco, Inc. is a subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc., specializing in EPC services for power, transmission, distribution, and substation projects. The company works with major energy companies to modernize their electric systems, move towards de-carbonization, and maintain extensive infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Provides electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects.
- Interprets and develops distribution designs consistent with utility standards.
- Analyzes pole lines for existing or new transmission/distribution structures.
- Uses pole line analysis tools to assess structural integrity of structures.
- Maintains clearances from existing structures according to standards and best practices.
- Calculates and drafts designs, including voltage regulation, electrical load calculations, system protection, and fuse coordination for distribution systems.
- Inputs bill of materials for assigned scope of work.
- Performs administrative functions and other tasks as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited institution OR 4-6 years of related experience and/or training in lieu of education. 1+ years of power utility industry experience or related field.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related documents and data.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, including proficiency in algebra, geometry, and engineering principles.
- Ability to solve complex problems and work with varying conditions.
- Experience with PLS-CADD or other CAD software is preferred.
