About the role
The Project Engineer III position within the Transmission Department performs electric utility-related engineering tasks and provides technical expertise to solve design problems under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include delegating and reviewing routine tasks through lower-level staff.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in RUS and NESC requirements.
- Design and evaluate transmission and distribution overhead power lines using PLS-CADD software to meet client needs economically and effectively.
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Support and contribute to a safety culture by adhering to safety standards, policies, and best practices.
- Prepare sealed engineering plans, specifications, material lists, and labor contracts for utility projects.
- Aid in developing both company and client standards for future project planning and design.
- Interface well with clients, vendors, representatives, and employees at all levels.
- Perform field/site visits to design, observe, and inspect projects with a more senior team member.
- Travel is required for this position on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering required.
- 4+ years of applicable experience required.
- PE required.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD software.
