Responsibilities
- Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines
- Material procurement and construction support through line energization
- Create project scope documents
- Finite element design modeling using PLS-CADD software
- Engineering design of structures and foundations
- Develop loading, framing, foundation and plan & profile drawing sets
- Create staking sheets, sag charts, and other construction exhibits
- Produce material and construction specifications
- Perform other design tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, 6+ years' project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Able to work in a team environment
- Commitment to quality and accuracy
- A willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principals
- Expertise regarding applicable codes, standards, and design tools
- Basic project management execution skills
- The ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team
Qualifications
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
