Job Description
As part of the Engineering and Technology Raptor Avionics Organization at Lockheed Martin Space, our team is passionate about developing test systems that ensure mission success for spacecraft and ground systems. We tackle the toughest challenges in the industry every day and deliver innovative electronic solutions in a collaborative engineering environment.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead engineering projects and initiatives for spacecraft subsystem test and engineering activities. You will serve as a primary liaison between program teams, internal engineering staff, and stakeholders, ensuring project objectives are met on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical requirements. You will independently lead project planning, execution, and coordination with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include creating detailed project schedules, developing estimates, tracking metrics, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring all project documentation is complete and accurate. You will act as the main point of contact for program teams, motivate and enable your team, manage risks, coordinate status and tag-up meetings, and support digital transformation and process improvement initiatives. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to team efficiency, process improvements, and program-level decision-making.

- Ensure project documentation, including schedules, reports, action items, and lessons learned, is accurate and maintained.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and project staff; provide guidance on project execution and engineering processes.
- Cook up cross-functional activities, including procurement, fabrication, and lab/test support.
- Support digital transformation initiatives, process improvement efforts, and team efficiency projects.
- Drive project performance and ensure alignment with technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to lead engineering projects, including cross-functional coordination and team facilitation.
