Project Engineer - Helena, MT

Responsibilities

• Preparing project submittals, including schedules, material lists, material specifications, subcontractor documentation, and related project paperwork
• Coinciding with accounting to prepare subcontracts, insurance documentation, monthly billings, and project-related financial information
• Securing required permits and maintaining all project documentation and files
• Reviewing daily timecards for coding accuracy and submitting them for processing
• Collecting, organizing, and maintaining project reports, meeting agendas, correspondence, and project records
• Matching invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments while ensuring documentation accuracy
• Tracking project quantities, production, costs, and preparing weekly cost projections
• Aiding with quantity tracking and cost analysis to support future estimating and bidding efforts
• Managing procurement of project materials, equipment, and long lead-time items
• Maintaining accurate as-built drawings and project specifications throughout construction
• Leading and supporting project scheduling activities
• Communicating with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to maintain strong working relationships
• Cooking up material orders with Superintendents and verifying project material postings
• Aiding with project closeout documentation, final pay quantities, final cost reporting, and project record storage
• Supporting the Project Manager with additional project coordination and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• Previous Project Engineer or construction project coordination experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, field personnel, owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment
