About the role
Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI) offers project assignments across the Midwest, including work on dams, tunnels, and underground projects. Project engineers are required to work in the field from the start, alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Implement project quality control plans
- Interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs
- Develop weekly look-ahead schedules to help the Superintendent stay ahead of project work
- Field surveying and layout alongside our crews
- Prepare work plans and schedule material deliveries
- Maintain project records, including daily reports, photos, and job cost data
- Support change orders and as-built documentation
- Learn cost tracking and scheduling from project managers
- Collaborate and innovate on each project
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 1-2 years of U.S. Based heavy civil experience (internships and co-ops count)
- Able to read and work from construction drawings
- Able to work on project sites away from home for extended periods
- Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship
Qualifications
- A plus, but not required: dam, hydro, tunnel, or geotechnical project exposure
- EIT certification
- Survey or layout experience
- An internship with a heavy civil or underground contractor
