About the role

The Project Engineer will assist and support the Project Managers (PMs) and other key personnel with various tasks including bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing and collection, take-offs, building (grading, paving, milling, subcontractors), equipment use, specifications, and general business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assists PMs with all duties, including safety, software and applications (HCSS, financials, scheduling, etc.), take-offs, bidding, building (grading, paving, milling, subcontractors), scheduling, equipment use, contracts and negotiation, billing and collection, and specifications.
  • Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Spend time with Operations, PMs, Scheduling, and some exposure to Manufacturing and Technical Services.
  • Attend project meetings (pre-construction, pre-pave, scheduling, etc.).
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

  • Prior transportation industry and logistics experience.

  • Develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities.
