Job Summary

S&ME is seeking a Project Engineer-Project Manager to lead geotechnical and construction projects in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, at least 4 years of relevant experience, and a Professional Engineer license.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will oversee project execution, conduct technical analyses, ensure quality control, collaborate with clients, and document project details. You will also mentor junior staff and utilize project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, coordination, and execution
  • Evaluate field and laboratory data for analyses on foundations, slopes, and settlements
  • Develop practical recommendations for site-specific projects
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections
  • Partner with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Prepare detailed reports and field documentation
  • Mentor junior staff and utilize project management systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in geotechnical, geostructural, and/or construction projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
  • Strong math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing in English)
  • Strong business and technical writing skills

Qualifications

  • Willingness to perform physical tasks with PPE
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work outside of normal business hours as needed

Skills

  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
