Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades, focusing on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for the aerospace, defense, and space industries. This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

About the role

Project Engineers are responsible for all activities required to successfully complete an assigned project, from customer interaction and statement of work (SOW) development through design, manufacturing support, and project delivery. An off-shift differential of $12,000 annually applies for the Weekend Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the customer and internal technical teams to ensure progress on all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate, consult with, and participate in design and manufacturing support.
  • Develop and release planning, and purchase supplies.
  • Develop and execute high-level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets.
  • Work directly with the customer technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverables; communicate or present project status or health to the customer.
  • Direct and participate in engineering activities, including design and drafting, engineering reviews, and work order preparation.
  • Ensure materials are organized and ready for manufacturing, including carrying out purchasing activities.
  • Interact frequently with the shop floor to ensure project health; may require daily presence on the shop floor.
  • Complete and understand all quality requirements for projects.
  • Manage project scope and perform risk assessments.
  • Monitor and report project financial performance.

The Project Engineer role has multiple levels of competency, determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

Requirements

  • Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed.
  • Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory; requires agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with composites, in a lean manufacturing environment, or with complex aircraft assemblies is ideal.

Pay

Salary range for this role is $83,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus and additional pay for off-shifts. The range reflects Janicki’s estimate of base compensation; actual offers will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
