Building Engineer (Weekend Shift)

About The Role
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and focuses on providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. You must live within a designated radius of the job site to reliably work the assigned schedule/shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
- Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
- Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
- Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your job discipline.

Requirements
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of four (4) years of building engineering or job-related experience.
- Experience focusing on HVAC/R, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (M.E.P.).
- EPA certification required.
- Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
- Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
- Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
