As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations and performance across plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling systems. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on equipment support, preventive maintenance, and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Keep facility and building systems compliant with applicable standards, codes, regulations, and company directives related to safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share expertise within your discipline and across related job functions.
  • Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE’s RISE values.
  • Build consensus and persuade others to reach agreements.
  • Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Communicate difficult or sensitive information effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education may substitute for a diploma.
  • Universal CFC certification preferred; additional certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on analyzing multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to explore new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills, including calculating percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Schedule

  • All schedules available, including daytime, evening, and night shifts.
  • Some overtime may be required, including “on-call” availability for emergencies.
  • Days and shifts will be determined based on team needs.

Pay

The minimum salary for this role is $65,000 annually, and the maximum salary is $80,000 annually. Compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience.
