About the role
The Project Engineer 2 position at Manhattan Construction Company assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. This role works under direct supervision, performing routine daily activities, and gathering and distributing information.
Responsibilities
- Setup initial contracts and project information
- Coordinate various trades
- Resolve design coordination issues
- Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals
- Manage the RFI process
- Manage the project permit process
- Prepare bid packages and procurement
- Identify long lead items and establish procurement priorities
- Update construction schedule based on project team input, trade contractor progress, and materials delivery
- Manage change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
- Track and inspect material deliveries
- Aid in the preparation of monthly owner project status reports
- Attend and/or lead project meetings
- Oversee timely distribution and accurate recording of all meeting minutes
- Aid in project close-out
- Communicate and enforce Manhattan’s environmental, health, and safety management policies
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Aid in the review of Subcontractor monthly payment applications
- Aid in coordinating punch list items and procedures
- Perform quality control inspections & oversee QPL process log
- Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering, equivalent degree, or 2 years of industry experience
Skills & Abilities
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office, Procore, & Bluebeam products
- Broad understanding of industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math/accounting skills
