Project Director
The Project Director is responsible for making key decisions, managing projects efficiently, and leading teams within their specialized fields. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.
- Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs large and important projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
- Serves as a technical director for projects within their discipline.
- Selects research problems to advance organizational goals.
- Manages personnel and resources for projects.
- Represents the firm to clients and manages significant marketing efforts.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets and ensures profitability.
- Works independently and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
One or both of the following:
- Supervises project managers and engineers.
- Leads marketing projects and proposal preparation.
- Manages detailed studies, modeling, and designs for energy services projects.
- Writes and reviews technical reports and design briefs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical) from an accredited college or university.
- Master's degree in discipline and professional engineering registration in the state of practice.
- At least 10 years of experience in project management.
- Experience with power distribution systems and electrical substations in the Pacific Northwest.
- Ability to manage projects and meet client needs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of project management, business administration, and marketing.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasional lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds is required.
Work Environment
The work environment is usually moderate in noise level and occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
Salary
$170,000 - $205,000 (DOE)
