Summary of Responsibilities
The Project Director will be responsible for expansion projects with a total value of $1-3 billion. Safely deliver the expansion projects at our Eunice, NM facility. The position covers the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through all the project delivery stages to closure.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related discipline
- Project Management Qualification/Accreditation such as APM or PMI or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in being fully accountable and actively leading large complex/multiple EPC/EPCM projects as a Project Director (or in an owner role)
- On-site construction experience
- MBA or equivalent
- 10+ years managing multi-cultural teams
- Work Location: Eunice, NM
- Work Schedule: 9/80 professional work schedule
- Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required.
- Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and a L or Q level security clearance.
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
- Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
Safety Culture
Actively promote a pro-active safety culture, and be a role model, throughout the project lifecycle. Build the capability and maintain the competency to safely and compliantly manage a large construction project.
Advise, consult, lead and provide feedback in the development and evolvement of the Capacity Expansion Program delivery strategy with support of our Global Subject Matter Experts, Procurement, and Legal.
Develop fit for purpose/fully compliant project management methodologies and working practices to implement the project.
Overall responsibility for the delivery of the centrifuge expansion Projects, to meet safety, scope, cost, schedule and business benefits objectives. Develop, implement and communicate strategies, objectives and benefits to business unit and group to achieve maximum business benefit.
Design, build, and develop a high performance organization and team, ensuring flawless integration of all sub-disciplines, functions and with the site throughout the project lifecycle.
Foster and enhance owner relationships with the partner contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
Urenco USA is part of an international group and as such we have Subject Matter Experts across all of our sites. As such, ensure Projects are using and incorporating specialist knowledge and expertise in project execution process.
Ensure Urenco’s commercial position is robustly protected through the application of industry best practice in contracting strategies, contractor and supplier selection, procurement, contract negotiation and contract management.
Leveraging experience from a number of industry sectors and continuously scan the market for best practice, analyzing developments and assessing how they can be exploited by Urenco to facilitate further value creation/delivery/capture/protection.
The role will ensure knowledge is retained and transferred inter-Urenco and will undertake lessons learned reviews to promote continuous improvement in all project management practices.
