Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and overall direction for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of a multi-billion-dollar underground infrastructure project.
- Oversee all aspects of project development, including procurement, design management, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling, and construction.
- Manage a multidisciplinary project team of engineers, contractors, consultants, and support staff.
- Interface with senior leadership, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
- Lead the development and implementation of project governance, compliance, and reporting structures.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards across all phases of the project.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, and resolve issues that could impact project scope, schedule, or budget.
- Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration across all project participants.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in project management and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record as a Project Director or senior leadership role for a prime contractor on at least one underground project valued at $1B+.
- Deep understanding of tunneling, geotechnical engineering, and large-scale civil works (e.g., transit, wastewater, utility, or hydropower).
- Strong background in contract management (e.g., EPC, Design-Build, CMGC, PPP).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with private developers.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local permitting and compliance processes.
- Demonstrated success managing joint ventures or complex organizational structures.
