Project Director
About the role
The Project Director is responsible for providing overall strategies, leadership, and management of multiple, less complex regional or national projects from start to finish, including staffing, managing project budget, scheduling, quality control, problem resolution, job coordination and communication, job invoicing/payments and client satisfaction activities.
This position has responsibility for business development, job solicitation and project negotiations, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Partners with senior leadership to create key functional strategies, critical objectives, and decisions affecting the business unit and functional work group.
- Counsels and coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly.
- Creates and manages an annual financial budget and maintains some level of responsibility for Companywide financials.
- Stays informed of new and changing Company procedures, policies, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices.
- Establishes, trains, and maintains policies and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in project management, business administration, construction engineering/management, or a related field.
- 7-8 years of project management and project leadership experience with projects of all sizes.
- Extensive project management training and skills.
- Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
- Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing people.
- 3-5 Years of experience with medium voltage with underground electrical installation.
- Previous field construction experience or equivalent (e.g., electrical, technologies, fire, etc.).
- Keen knowledge of the managed business unit and the overall departmental function.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with construction methods and materials, costing, power, lighting, systems design and general industry safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
- Must have extensive knowledge of the electrical code.
Skills
- Strong conceptual estimating and problem-solving skills, and experience in reviewing estimates for accuracy and completeness.
- Excellent business analysis, quality management and mathematical skills.
- Trained and proficient in negotiating, budgeting, costing, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and common code requirements.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Travel is required daily to an assigned project site.
