Project Detailer
About the role
We're seeking a Project Detailer to join our team. You'll play a crucial part in bringing large-scale commercial projects to life by creating detailed submittal packages, reviewing contract documents, and ensuring every opening meets specifications, code requirements, hardware functions, and project standards.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed submittal packages
- Review contract documents
- Ensure openings meet specifications, code requirements, hardware functions, and project standards
- Collaborate with Project Management to support the critical path schedule
- Manage change orders
- Procure samples
- Maintain documents through Bluebeam and Comsense
- Contribute through value engineering, hardware consulting, keying schedules, and occasional specification development
Requirements
- Experience in Division 8 detailing
- Solid understanding of installation practices, building codes, contracting, and change management
- Familiarity with Comsense Opening Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical thinking, financial awareness, clear communication, and collaboration skills
- Professionalism, creativity, and initiative
- Comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels
Preferred but not required
- AHC, FDAI, and/or CDC certifications
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, and occasional extended sitting
- Use of hand and finger dexterity for computer-based tasks
- Clear close and distance vision
- Effective hearing for communication and safety awareness
- May encounter moderate noise, varying weather, or exposure to certain materials depending on the project site
