Project Designer III (Fire)

About the role

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven and forward-thinking Project Designer to join their amazing culture. The role involves designing, engineering, and documenting installed solutions with moderate to high complexity, communicating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and document installed solutions with moderate to high complexity according to project requirements.
• Proactively communicate with colleagues, vendors, consultants, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Identify cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements within the project schedule.
• Review scope, defined product specifications, application, and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

• Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Experience: 5+ years design/engineering, field service, or project management experience, and experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare.
• Skills: Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
• Attributes: Customer Focus, Initiative, Analytical Thinking.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Individual pay rates will vary depending on the job, department, and location, as well as the individual skills, experience, certifications, specific licenses, and education of the applicant. This posting is expected to remain open until 07/17/2026.
