Location: Ashburn, VA – in office Monday–Thursday, remote Friday (schedule is not flexible). Must be a US Citizen.
About the role
The Project Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans—including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. You will perform coordinating tasks such as schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information.
- Break projects into actionable tasks and set timeframes.
- Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management.
- Ensure clients’ needs are met as projects evolve.
- Help prepare project budgets.
- Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Oversee project procurement management.
- Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise.
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
- Use tools to monitor working hours, plans, and expenditures.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Ensure standards and requirements are met through quality assurance inspections.
- Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Undertake project tasks as required.
- Develop project strategies.
- Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field of study.
- Experience in project management, from conception to delivery.
- Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
- Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; standing and walking are also required.
- Must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review. Positions requiring driving must have an MVR that meets company and insurance carrier standards.
