Job Duties
- Facilitates comprehensive orientation for designated consumer family members, as needed.
- Facilitates quarterly family gatherings.
- Mets with designated consumer family members monthly.
- Promotes the Health and Wellness of the family by covering physical, emotional, intellectual, social, environmental, occupational, spiritual, land-centric, and financial education.
- Works with families to understand and address risk factors and connects consumers with resources and support services.
- Collaborates with FNA BHS child, youth, and young adult services.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement and data-driven decision-making processes to assess program efficacy and drive quality improvement.
- Ensures adherence to data collection requirements and enters accurate and timely data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Develops billing records.
- Provides culturally relevant and trauma-informed service.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to report to work on time.
- Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health; and appropriate skills in working with consumers with Mental Health/Substance Use disorders.
- Skill in working successfully with the Alaska Native/American Indian population and experience providing culturally specific programming; understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles.
- Skill in operating/using computers and using Windows, Word, and Excel with the ability to accurately input information into reporting formats.
- Above average communication and people skills with the ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of how to best assist possible escalated individuals during the data collection process.
- Ability to protect confidentiality is essential; HIPAA & 42 CFR compliant.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret/understand billing procedures.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting their deadlines.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, agencies, and consumers.
- Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience working with AN/AI population.
- One (1) year of experience working with families.
- Two (2) years of experience working in the mental health field.
- A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements.
Prior to Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Experience providing culturally specific services.
- Experience applying knowledge, judgment, and critical reasoning acquired through your training and professional experiences, known as Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).
