Project Coordinator - Distribution
About the role
Welcome to Welty Energy, where we are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our dynamic and growing Distribution (Dx) Project Management team. Based in Western Pennsylvania, you will be part of a team managing major capital projects for electric utilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions, with a focus on distribution lines.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and organizing all activities for engineering, design, procurement, and construction of major capital projects and programs related to Distribution Lines.
- Aid in establishing and maintaining communication with all applicable stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate the implementation of safety and health programs, promoting safe work practices and compliance with company and client policies.
- Implement environmental programs, ensuring the protection of the environment in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
- Support the project management team in providing technical reviews of specifications, drawings, contracts, addenda, and other construction documents.
- Schedule and conduct project planning and status meetings to ensure schedule and financial adherence.
- Manage the delegation of tasks from the Project Manager, serving as the single point of contact for construction on submittals, reviews, and document coordination.
- Avoid schedule interruptions and conflicts by identifying and communicating necessary outages in a timely manner.
- Ensure that required permits are obtained for all fieldwork and approvals are secured from applicable parties.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant experience in the electric utility industry.
- 2+ years of project coordination experience in the utility sector, preferably with electric or gas distribution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
