Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read, review, and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, drawings, and related project documents to support accurate project coordination and execution.
  • Coverage of technical project activities to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with established scope and quality expectations.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, timelines, deadlines, and deliverables for assigned commercial projects.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, project managers, internal departments, and coworkers in person, by phone, and through written communication.
  • Cook project resources, schedules, documentation, external vendor relationships, communication, budgets, change orders, risks, and issue resolution as needed.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure work is proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Participate in quality control activities and assist in identifying, communicating, and resolving project quality issues.
  • Support planning, coordination, and completion of complex initiatives that may span one or multiple projects.
  • Maintain accurate project records, updates, and documentation to support effective communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience with takeoffs, sheet metal ductwork for purposes of fabrication, or project coordinator in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and estimating software systems.
  • Certificates & Licenses: None required.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Experience in sheet metal estimating for a mechanical contractor or related HVAC/manufacturing environment.
  • Customer service and sales experience with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience using sheet metal estimating software, such as Quote Express or similar estimating platforms.
  • Experience using ERP systems, such as QAD or similar business management systems.
  • Proficient working in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
  • Comfortable using Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam to review, mark up, and manage PDF files and project documents.
