Madison Approach Staffing is recruiting for a Project Coordinator for a manufacturing company in Yonkers, NY. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent placement.
About the role
This role serves as the primary point of contact and coordinator for the engineering group, providing support to the Director on project management execution and various activities. The Project Coordinator acts as the prime interface with customers on technical and commercial contract issues, manages project communications, monitors schedule status, and addresses critical project risks.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to Director on project management execution and activities
- Serve as prime customer interface on all contract matters (technical and commercial)
- Coordinate activities of the engineering group responsible for product design
- Manage project correspondence including letters, meeting minutes, and memos
- Interface with customers, vendors, internal departments, and company subsidiaries
- Address critical project issues (cost, schedule, technical risk) through action planning and execution
- Monitor and report schedule status and milestone progress
- Attend project and engineering meetings at customer, subcontractor, and company sites nationally and internationally
- Prepare and issue monthly progress reports for customer approval
- Maintain action item database and ensure follow-up
- Act as backup to Director during absences
- Develop and maintain project master schedule using appropriate software
- Develop business strategies aligned with company management policies
- Manage team; select and develop staff capabilities; plan succession; counsel and administer discipline
- Establish work standards and schedules; assign work and train employees; review performance and approve timekeeping
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years in project coordination, project engineering, or project administration
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
- Proficiency with project management software and scheduling applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop team members
- Ability to manage customer relationships and represent company professionally
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required
Pay
$65,000–$75,000 annually (DOE)
Schedule
On-site in Yonkers, NY, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
