Tunista Construction delivers heavy civil contracting services throughout Washington State, building a strong reputation with major government agencies and private clients. Our portfolio includes successful design-build and bid-build projects for the Department of Defense, Washington State Department of Transportation, and various public and private entities, giving you exposure to diverse project types and construction methods.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and file paperwork, projects documents, and certified payroll.
  • Monitor, track and send all prepared and received Certified Payroll as required.
  • Prepare and turn in weekly payroll up to accounting, verifying all timecards follow the union MLA guidelines.
  • Cover project documentation controls, project setup and cost accounting.
  • Perform a wide variety of high-level administrative construction tasks and project engineering duties to support the coordination of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Support Project Managers & Estimators by obtaining pricing for the development of cost estimates.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, project phases, and activities by utilizing Critical Path Management techniques and company-designated software programs.
  • Ensure all required documents are received from subcontractors prior to starting on-site work.
  • Avoid coding invoices to properly track project expenses to the budget.
  • Manage contract document compliance.
  • File Intents and Affidavits for all civil jobs.
  • Avoid assisting in managing Lien Releases and Pay Applications each month for civil jobs.
  • Avoid assisting in verbally communicating effectively with clients.
  • Avoid assisting in developing presentations for outside agencies and internal communications.
  • Avoid collecting required documentation from any subcontractors, clients, or vendors.
  • Avoid assisting in new job/office setup including materials, supplies, account setup for local services, and communication.
  • Avoid coordinating and attending client meetings.
  • Avoid preparing and reviewing closed jobs report for continuation of close-out and funds collection.
  • Avoid managing Government base passes and documentation.
  • Avoid preparing and reviewing accounts with vendors as needed.
  • Avoid managing positive working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
  • Avoid planning, coordinating, and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Avoid assisting President and all staff with any issues that arise which require immediate action.
  • Avoid performing other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in a similar position required.
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience utilizing project management software like HCSS, P6, and Procore is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in civil construction industry to include operations, accounting, and estimating, and financial analysis preferred.
  • Prior construction industry preferred.

Supervisory Functions

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Advance knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems, financial reporting, and project management systems.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.

  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company.
  • Ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to learn and understand the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to do basic math: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and find percentages.
  • Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to be detail oriented; superior organizational, follow-up, and records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to exercise resourcefulness in assisting management and co-workers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to travel for work-related purposes for extended periods of time (up to 10%).
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
